    Before and After: Dining Table

Before After My husband found this dining table on the side of the road. Someone’s trash is another person’s treasure. We have actually had this for over a year taking up space when we finally decided to finish it up. We did this in a two-tone color scheme. With the top being stained and the bottom using Storm Cloud Gray color along with the chairs. We used Cabinet paint because of the constant wear and tear on it and sealed the whole table with a polyurethane for easy clean-up. Tips and Techniques: Wine Barrel Sign

I bought these wine barrel rings over five years ago to make a cool project with but I never did. I bought mine off etsy but each was a different size and width) 6 inch x 1 inch x 8 ft boards (5.5 x .75 is actual size of boards) Wood words (purchased mine from a hobby store) – I use Blessed and Family on mine White paint Dark Walnut Stain Screws…

    Before and After: Coffee Table

I found this coffee table about 5 years ago at this little small Antique shop in downtown Benton in Arkansas. We lived there at the time and I squealed with delight as it was only $50. We took it out to the farm and transformed it. Staining the top a nice dark stain and painting the base a beautiful teal/turquoise color with a stained glaze distressed finish on top. We then sealed it with a couple of coats of polyurethane. We have used it every since, and I’m not sure I’d part with it. To be honest, I don’t remember the exact colors we used but it’s still a precious…

    Tips and Techniques: Reversed Canvas

I kept seeing this canvas on Pinterest that were called reversed canvas but for the life of me I wasn’t sure what that meant.  Then I researched it some more and really liked what I saw. I had bought canvas packs of various sizes ages ago and decided I would try and make some and I loved them. I now have 6 versions – 4 square and 2 rectangle that I make on the regular. This will show you how to do if you want to try. Materials Needed 12 x 12 canvas (you can use any size really but the pictures will show you how to make this 12…

    Tips and Techniques: Coffee Tray

A good friend had been looking for a tray to go under her coffee maker for her beautiful new kitchen. She needed a certain size and was having trouble finding it so she asked me if we could make one similar to a picture she like. We said yes but little did we know how frustrating the handles would be and we vowed never to make handles like that again. It’s too funny but it turned out great. Here’s the how to. Board cut down to size for tray. Materials Needed ½ inch x 2 ft by 2ft Oak Hardwood plywood 2 – ½ inch x 3 in by 3ft…

    Before and After: Antique Table

This is a cute antique table and we originally thought to leave it stained and just clean it up but it had several “ring” spots that we could not get out and so distressed white is what we decided. We did remove the stain with JASCO Paint and Epoxy Remover. After painting, it was distressed by sanding away some of the paint to create a worn look. Paint Colors: Valspar Satin – White Also sealed with Miniwax Polyacrylic

Tips and Techniques: Shiplap Blessed Sign

I was looking for inspiration to use shiplap in a new interesting way and I came across some designs for using it in a sign. Then I went on the hunt for shiplap and I found out that Lowe’s sells shiplap wood already painted on one side and just made my day. I came up with this cute sign that I am selling in my booth. This one takes a bit of work to do but I love how it turned out. Products Needed 5 boards of 5.375 Rough Sawn Shiplap – 8 ft long (stained black, brown and gray and one painted white. I got two brown as I…

    Dreams in to reality

Well, I have had a dream for many, many years to take my creative talent and make it into a business. I’ve dragged my husband and kids along to craft shows and antique stores for many years. My kiddos love going “junking”. Although Wyatt tends to buying matchbox cars and Riley is looking for trendy bows or earrings, they still love the thrill of the hunt. I finally dove right in and started actively pursing making this dream into something real about a year and half ago. I started working on a logo (with the help of my big sis) and working on prototypes and products (with the help of…

    Wooden Candlesticks

As I am working on making products for my new booth, I wanted to design a chunky candlestick to sell. I begin investigating what type of products were relatively inexpensive and would make a good-looking product. Believe me, it took me some time to find just the right mix and to find the products for a decent price. Here is a step by step of how I made these cute candlesticks. I’m selling them in my booth from $18-22 but there relatively easy to put together with products readily available at local stores if you want to try on your own. Products Needed: Round and Square plaques (Small and Large)…

Before and After: Farmhouse Entry or Sofa Table

We got this entry or sofa table to sell in our booth or to use as decoration. It is actually made from mostly particle board so its not high quality furniture but we just needed something to fill up space. But the After is really actually not bad. We even considered not selling and just keeping it but we will be on the lookout for a better piece of furniture. Paint Colors: Valspar Satin – Storm Cloud Also sealed with Miniwax Polyacrylic
